Shortly after joining the Northwest College photography program in 2012, associate professor Christine Garceau began hosting mock wedding seminars for students in the program. The goal was to give the vocational students, who are working towards an associates in applied science, real world experiences to help them succeed in their careers after graduation.
Garceau said that this year, as the COVID-19 pandemic forced colleges to move most classes to an online format, NWC was one of few colleges in the nation offering face to face lab classes for its photography students.
This year, the seminar was held on Polecat Bench, with a western-themed photo session. The students will use the images generated from the session as part of their portfolio capstone dossier, as they prepare to graduate in May 2021.
