Powell native Phillip “Karl” Hoffman died on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at the Billings Clinic after a lengthy illness. He was 43.
Karl, as he was known by family and friends, was born on Aug. 6, 1968 to Phillip and Joy Hoffman of Powell.
During his school years Karl was an active member of various Powell athletic teams and received many recognitions for his athletic prowess. After graduation Karl continued to be an active follower of Powell High School athletics.
Karl’s greatest joys were playing with his dogs, spending quality time with family and friends and supporting not only the Powell Panthers but also his beloved Dallas Cowboys.
Karl is survived by his parents Phillip and Joy Hoffman of Powell; brothers Manuel Trevino of Billings, Fred Trevino of Cheyenne, David Trevino of La Mesa, Calif.; sisters Isabell Trevino of Byron, Chris Coats of Richardson, Texas; niece Lisa Cook of La Jolla, Calif.; and by his beloved nieces and nephews Lauren Coats, Steven Coats, Sarah Trevino, Jamie Trevino, Justin Cook and Tyler Cook.
Per Karl’s wishes, no services will be held. Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be sent to Dallas, Texas.
For those who wish to keep Karl’s memory alive, a scholarship has been established to honor a graduating senior from Powell High School who excelled in athletics or music, two areas that were very important to Karl.
Donations may be made to the “Karl Hoffman Memorial Scholarship” which has been established at the First Bank of Wyoming.
