Phebe Mary Stephens, 103, of Mullen, Neb., formerly of Powell, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at the Pioneer Memorial Rest Home in Mullen.
She was born Dec. 22, 1908, in Horton, Kan., to Anthony and Harriet (Tallopt) Vaught.
Phebe was the youngest of five children. She was the salutatorian of her high school class. Phebe later married Lowell O. Stephens in Red Lodge, Mont. Four children were born to this union.
Phebe worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 26 years. She was an Eastern Star member and the White Shrine.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Ellen, four brothers and sisters and son-in-law.
Survivors include her daughter Virginia Wright of Mullen, sons Lowell Jr. of Casper, and Robert of Seattle, Wash., three grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and one great-great-granddaughter.
Memorial services will be held Friday, April 13 at 2:30 p.m. at the Pioneer Memorial Rest Home in Mullen, Neb. Memorials can be made to the Pioneer Memorial Rest Home in Mullen.
Her ashes will be inurned in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Powell at a later date by the family.
