CODY — Park County School District 6 celebrated the dedication and leadership of three outgoing trustees during Monday night’s board meeting. Stefanie Bell, Jessica Case and Tom Keegan were honored for their service to the district and the community.
Bell served as a trustee for 24 years. She was also recognized with the Wyoming School Board Association Champion of Education Award, one of the highest honors bestowed by the WSBA.
• Jessica Case contributed four years of dedicated service, bringing valuable insights and energy to the board, according to the release.
• Tom Keegan served for eight years, weighing in on issues such as the concealed carry and book policies as well as superintendent changes.
The outgoing trustees, along with their fellow board members and Superintendent Vernon Orndorff, branded their leadership as the “Team of 8.” This team was instrumental in notable accomplishments including:
• The implementation of a comprehensive district strategic plan.
• Alignment of the district’s curriculum with Wyoming standards.
• The launch of innovative learning opportunities connected to Gov. Mark Gordon’s RIDE Initiative, particularly through the Classroom 2 Careers program.
• Support for dynamic leadership, highly effective teachers, and fostering critical thinking and innovation among students.
Orndorff reflected on the trustees’ impact.
“I have deeply valued the opportunity to learn and grow under the leadership of this high-functioning school board,” he said. “Stefanie, Jessica and Tom’s contributions have been transformative, and their absence will certainly be felt. However, I am ecstatic about the future and the future growth of our newly formed Team of 8.”
