Douglas on top entering 2011-12

The preseason rankings have been released from WyoWrestling.com and fans who delighted in the recent football battle between Powell and Douglas had better strap themselves in for what could be round 2.

The Panthers received the No. 2 ranking in the first poll. Douglas was given the preseason nod as the favorite in 3A. Newcomer Star Valley, down from 4A this season, sits third behind the Bearcats and Panthers. Worland, Lander and Torrington round out the top six.

Fifteen Panthers were recognized among the top seven in the various weight classes to begin the year. All weight classes have been adjusted slightly for the upcoming season, adding an additional variable for pollsters attempting to determine where athletes will compete for the season ahead.
