The Wyoming High School Activities Association recently recognized six Panther athletes for good sportsmanship shown during competitions this fall.

Game officials recommend the awards, which are given for “exemplary conduct and good sportsmanship.”

The Park County School District 1 Board of Trustees recently recognized the following Powell High School students who received WHSAA Good Sportsmanship Awards:

• Mattie Larsen for the Mountain View vs. Powell volleyball match on Oct. 9.

• Kenzie Ratcliff for the Lyman vs. Powell volleyball match on Oct. 10.

• Megan Good for the Lander vs. Powell volleyball match on Oct. 15.

• Riley Bennett for the Jackson vs. Powell football game on Oct. 16.

• Toran Graham for the Lander Valley vs. Powell football game on Oct. 30.

• Geordan Weimer for the Lander Valley vs. Powell football game on Oct. 30.

WHSAA Commissioner Ron Laird and Associate Commissioner Trevor Wilson announced the awards in letters to PHS Principal Tim Wormald and offered their congratulations to the students.

“Sportsmanship is a goal that all our coaches and athletes should have as they participate in activities,” Laird wrote. “I am pleased to hear that your students and coaches understand the true meaning of participation.”
