Panther volleyball extended its winning streak over the weekend, taking down Lovell and Thermopolis on Thursday and Saturday, respectively. PHS has won four matches in a row and is now 6-5 overall.

Against Lovell, the Panthers won in three sets and never gave an inch. They controlled both of the first two sets, winning 25-16 and 25-20.

In the third set, Powell ran into trouble, as Lovell closed the gap and tied the match at 21-21. PHS, however, won the next four points to clinch the win.

Powell’s match with Thermopolis was more contested. After two sets, it was tied at 1-1.

The Panthers rebounded nicely after dropping set two, however, cruising to 25-19 and 25-12 set wins to clinch the match.

More information about the two matches were not available as of press time, as the Tribune was unable to connect with PHS head coach Tasha Miller.

Not long ago, PHS struggled to find consistency, sitting at 2-5. But this four-game surge has seen an increase in team chemistry and overall performance.

Powell will look to continue its winning ways this weekend. The Panthers play hosts to Mountain View at home on Friday evening, then take the court again on Saturday morning for a home contest against Lyman.
