(Nov. 10, 1941 - Nov. 8, 2009)Opal Jean Large, 67, died Nov. 8 in Kalispell, Mont. after a long illness.She was born Nov. 10, 1941, in Miles City, Mont., the daughter of Edna Olive (McMullin) and Clifford Reed. She was raised in Ismay and Miles City, Mont. Her family later moved to Powell, where Opal graduated from high school.She attended Northwest Community College and Casper College. Opal worked as a CNA for 30 years at Powell Valley Hospital, home health and at the Heartland. She moved to Kalispell in February 2008.She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her papillon dogs, as well as shopping.Opal is survived by her daughters Veronica Lynne Johnson and Victoria Muller-Brown; brothers Dick Reed, Lee Reed and Rob Askin; sister Nancy Charlton; grandchildren Brandi Telkamp and Tony Murphy; great-grandchildren Jarrett and Lauren Telkamp; eight nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husbands Mildon A. “Sonny” Muller and Jack Large and by her brother, Jack Reed.A celebration of Opal's life will be held Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Elks Club in Powell. Cremation has taken place, with interment at Crown Hill Cemetery.Memorials in Opal's name may be made to the American Lung Association or to Powell Valley Hospice.
