The Powell Library is once again offering a Halloween costume exchange.

Donations and exchanges will be accepted Oct. 6-31. 

October also means Literary Pumpkin time. Bring in any pumpkin or gourd decorated or carved to represent a favorite book, character or author for display at the library. Pumpkins are accepted to display Oct. 27-30. Voting will take place on Halloween.

The Powell Library is offering Beginning Crochet: All ages. Join us on Monday, Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. to start learning how to crochet.

Powell Library is offering Family History Friday, Oct. 10. at 9 a.m.

All ages are welcome to join us for Bring Your Own Crafternoon every Wednesday from 1-3 p.m. Enjoy hanging out with other crafters as you work on your craft projects.

All Ages Crafternoon will be Friday, Oct. 3. from 1-3 p.m. Join us for Flower Pounding.

Grab your Altered Book Club kit after Oct. 8. and create a book page pumpkin.

For ages 10 and up stop by on Monday, Oct. 20. from 3-5 p.m to make paper airplanes and see how far they can fly.

Craft time for ages 10 and up will be on Friday, Oct. 17. from 1-3 p.m. Come make glow in the dark ghosts in a jar.

Ages 10 and up, join us on Friday, Oct. 24. at 1 p.m. for Nintendo Switch Game Day.

Teens come join us at the library for Teen Crafternoon. Come paint Sugar Skull pots on Friday, Oct. 10 from 1-3 p.m.

Join us for Adult Craft Night on Thursday, Oct. 16. at 6 p.m. to make your own Canning Ring Pumpkin. Adult Craft Night will be at the Powell Elks Lodge at 581 N. Clark St.

Powell Library is offering different book discussions for all your literary tastes. All book discussions meet at the Homesteader Hall meeting room. The Tuesday Afternoon Book Discussion meets on the Oct. 14. at 2 p.m. where we will be discussing “Rules for Visiting,” by Jessica Francis Kane. The Tuesday Evening Book Group will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 28. at 6 p.m. to discuss “The Haunting of Hill House,” by Shirley Jackson.

Powell Library is offering Tech Tuesday. Sign up for a one-on-one session with a Park County Library IT specialist who can help you with your device problems. Tech Tuesday will be on Oct. 21; sign ups required.

Powell Library is offering Homeschool Hour on Thursdays, Oct. 2 and Oct. 16, from 2-3 p.m. For ages K-12.

Bring the kids to the Powell Library for our wonderful children’s programming.

Powell Library is offering Toddler Time every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

Join us every Wednesday for Story Time at 1:30 p.m.

The 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Kickoff Party will be  Oct. 22. at 10:30 a.m. Parents, remember we have Early Literacy Kits as well as tonies for checkout. Also sign up your child for 1000 Books Before Kindergarten. Make sure and check out the new book at the StoryWalk at Homesteader Park. This month’s story is “Kate Who Tamed the Wind,” by Liz Garton Scanlon.

All Park County libraries will be closed Monday, Oct. 13 for Columbus Day.
