November happenings at the library

The Powell Library is once again doing a Craft Supply Swap. This is a great chance to collect new craft supplies for our long winters or drop supplies off for others to enjoy. So, stop by Monday, Nov. 17 from 4-7 p.m. to get your craft supplies.

Powell Library is offering Family History Friday on Nov. 14 at 9 a.m.

Ages 10 & up join us for our Art Series on Friday, Nov. 7 from 1-3 p.m. where we will make our own version of Vincent Van Gogh’s “Starry Night.”

Join us for Craft & Chat every Wednesday from 9-11 a.m., bring your projects and enjoy fellow crafters as you craft and chat. 

All ages craft time will be Friday, Nov. 14 from 1-3 p.m. Join us to make corn cobs.

Grab your Altered Book Club kit after Nov. 12 and create a book page tree.

Craft time for ages 10 and up will be on Friday, Nov. 21 from 1-3 p.m. Come make Dragon Eggs.

Teens come join us at the library for Teen Crafternoon. Come make a photobooth bookmark on Monday, Nov. 10 from 3-5 p.m.

Join us for Adult Craft Night on Thursday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. to make a Snowman out of pot lids. Adult Craft Night will be at the Powell Elks Lodge at 581 Clark St.

The Powell Library is offering different book discussions for all your literary tastes; all book discussions meet at the Homesteader Hall meeting room. Tuesday Afternoon Book Discussion meets on Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. where we will be discussing “The Tumbling Turner Sisters,” by Juliette Fay. The Tuesday Evening Book Group will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. to discuss “A Christmas Carol,” by Charles Dickens.

Powell Library is offering Tech Tuesday. Sign up for a one-on-one session with Park County Library IT who can help you with your device problems. Tech Tuesday will be on Nov. 18, sign ups required.

Powell Library is offering Homeschool Hour Thursday, Nov. 6 and 20 from 2-3 p.m. For ages K-12.

Bring the kids to the Powell Library for our wonderful children’s programming. Powell Library is offering Toddler Time every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Join us every Wednesday for Storytime at 1:30 p.m. The 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Kickoff Party is Nov. 22 at 10:30 a.m. Parents, remember we have Early Literacy Kits as well as tonies for checkout. Also sign up your child for 1000 Books before Kindergarten. Make sure and check out the new book at the Storywalk at Homesteader Park. This month’s story is “Peyton Picks the Perfect Pie,” by Jack Bishop.

The Park County Library Foundation will be hosting a book sale in the Heart Mountain Hall at the fairgrounds on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5-6. The Friends of the Powell Library will also be hosting a Puzzle Sale at the same location. Times to be determined.

Christmas Cards for Veterans will be back at the Powell Library starting Dec. 1 through Monday, Dec. 15. Make sure to come in and make a card for a veteran.

All Park County libraries will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 11 for Veterans Day and Thursday, Nov. 27 through Saturday, Nov. 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
