Northwest College’s books are clean according to auditor Brittany Wilson of MHP in Cheyenne.
Wilson presented her findings at Monday’s board of trustees meeting, which included unmodified (clean) opinions in every category examined.
“I think you’re doing very well,” she said. “I think there’s a couple of things I want to call out specifically. I think you have a really strong accounting team, and I know you’ve had a lot of turnover in that department under [Finance Director] Mark [Grant], and I’m really hopeful that now you can kind of have a strong, full team and vice president in place.”
She said the college is trending in a “great direction” financially.
The college has undergone some changes in the financial department ever since President Lisa Watson became the interim president — she had been the vice president for financial services and retained that position as well, through being approved as the permanent president, until the hiring of new Vice President for Administrative Service and Finance Burt Reynolds early in the year.
Wilson said Reynolds was good to work with as well.
“I’m excited for what that looks like moving forward,” she said.
