Fans get in free to Tuesday contestsNorthwest College basketball fans will be receiving an early present this winter when the Trappers offer free admission to Tuesday's season-opening games against the Rocky Mountain College JV. The NWC women tip off at 5:30 p.m. with the men's game scheduled to follow at 7:30 p.m.The evening will begin with the return of NWC women's basketball career scoring leader Janis Beal to Ken Rochlitz Court in Cabre Gym. Beal will make her head coaching debut for the Trappers, leading a roster of 10 freshmen and two sophomores against the Battlin' Bears. The men's contest will feature a more-seasoned roster of players facing off against the Rocky Mountain reserves. Rocky Mountain College's varsity team captured the 2009 men's NAIA national title last season. Both games will provide fans the chance to get their first glimpse at the many freshmen on both the men's and women's rosters for Northwest College. Tuesday's games will be the only home action until the Trapper men host the First National Bank Shootout on Nov. 20-21. For the women's team, the next home action will be the annual NWC Alumni game on Nov. 21. The Trapper women host the Trapper Tournament on Dec. 3-4 for their next NJCAA home action.
