A $5,000 memorial gift was received by Homesteader Museum of Powell from Ann Ries, in memory of her late husband, Ron Ries, who died Sept. 8, 2020.
He was the son of Joe and Amelia Ries, Garland homesteaders. A 1962 graduate of Powell High School, Ron Ries went on to earn a Ph.D. degree in Range Management and a career as a range management scientist.
In thanking the donor for the memorial gift, Brandi Wright, executive director of Homesteader Museum, said the family has been a longtime supporter of the museum.
