More pressing issues than dispute over paint scheme

Posted

Dear Editor:

As I looked at the Thursday paper, I saw a very beautiful house on the front page and proceeded to read the story. Halfway through, I’m thinking “why is this on the front page of the Powell Tribune?” Who really cares about how a house is painted in Cody? If the “snobs” in Cody want to cause all kinds of problems for their HOA people, that’s fine, but I don’t think it belongs on the front page of our paper. We have more pressing issues which should be on the front page than the color of a house and the suit that went with it.

Personally, I saw nothing wrong with how the house was painted. What we need on the front page is more about how our farmers are going to come out of this bad season, more on how the college is doing and what we as a community can do to support the college, more about activities which our children can take part in, more about what is going on in our community and how the citizens can get involved with different programs and activities, more on how we can keep our children safe and protected, more on how we can help our elderly who live alone, etc. In other words, more about the Powell community and not about how a house is painted.

Sincerely,

Judy Showalter

Powell
