(Sept. 28, 1928 - Jan. 11, 2010)Mazie Lenore (Cross) Dykes, 81, of Powell died on Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at New Horizons Care Center in Lovell. She was born Sept. 28, 1928, in Harrison, Neb., to John R. and Orpha (Scoville) Cross. Mazie was one of eight children — four girls and four boys.She spent her early years in Harrisburg where she met and married her husband, Delbert Dykes.Together they raised their two daughters. In 1964, the moved to Deaver. Mazie moved to Powell in 1980.Mazie's hobbies in her early life were skeet shooting, hunting, fishing and raising chickens and cattle. Later in life, she had time for reading, more fishing, and she enjoyed her time spent as a curator at the Homesteader Museum.She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister and a nephew.Mazie is survived by her two daughters, Rena Dykes and her husband Bill Corn, and Rita Jansson and her husband Tom; granddaughter Jordan Jansson; and two special family members, Klondy and Katrina Jansson.According to her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a family service will be held at a later date.Condolences may be sent to the family at 916 East Madison, Powell, WY 82435.

Mazie Lenore (Cross) Dykes, 81, of Powell died on Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at New Horizons Care Center in Lovell.

She was born Sept. 28, 1928, in Harrison, Neb., to John R. and Orpha (Scoville) Cross. Mazie was one of eight children — four girls and four boys.

She spent her early years in Harrisburg where she met and married her husband, Delbert Dykes.

Together they raised their two daughters. In 1964, the moved to Deaver. Mazie moved to Powell in 1980.
