The wait is finally over and the new Powell Library is open. The building is gorgeous and we were so happy to see Powell turn out for the grand opening. The new building means new hours; Powell Library is now open Monday-Thursday 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Remember all events and programming for the Powell Library will be held in our new wonderful building. 

The end of May will also mean the kick off for Summer Reading throughout the Park County libraries, so be on the lookout for more information to come.  

Craft Supply Swap is back. Join us on Monday, May 11 from 4-7 p.m. 

On Friday, May 8 from 1-3 p.m. come to the library and join us for All Ages Crafternoon and on Friday, May 15 from 1-3 p.m. ages 10 and up join us as we use perler beads to recreate a famous painting.     

Grab your Altered Book Club kit after May 13 and create a book Hydrangea Wreath.         

Join us for Adult Craft Night on Thursday, May 21 at 6 p.m. for a night of Craft Catch Up; here is your chance to do a previous adult craft you might have missed out on.   

Tuesday Afternoon Book Discussion meets on May 12 at 2 p.m. where we will be discussing "The Keeper of Lost Causes," by Jussi Adler Olsen. The evening book discussion will be meet on Tuesday, May 26 at 6 p.m. to discuss "The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store," by James McBride.

Powell Library is offering Tech Tuesday; sign up for a one-on-one session with Park County Library IT who can help you with your device problems. Tech Tuesday will be on May 19, signups required.     

Bring the kids to the Powell Library for our wonderful children’s programming. Toddler Time is every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Join us every Wednesday for Storytime at 2 p.m. Join us for kids craft for K-fifth grade, to make Fortune Tellers on Friday, May 22, 1-3 p.m. Lego Club is back on Thursday, May 28 at 3:30 p.m. For ages 10 and up, on Friday, May 29 from 1-3 p.m. we will have Board Game Afternoon. Remember Early Literacy Kits as well as tonies for checkout. Also sign up your child for 1000 Books before Kindergarten. Make sure and check out the new book at the Storywalk at Homesteader Park. This month’s story is Alan’s Big, Scary Teeth, by Jarvis.

All Park County libraries will be closed Saturday, May 23 and Monday, May 25 for Memorial Day.
