Funeral services for former resident Maxine LaVerne Shanor, 82, were conducted Nov. 5 at the LDS Church Four-Mile Building in Cheyenne.

Mrs. Shanor, the wife of former Powell High School principal Donald Shanor, died Nov. 1 at United Medical Center West in Cheyenne. Mr. Shanor died in 1985.

She was born May 1, 1922, in Burlington, daughter of Florence (Della) and Ira McIntosh. She had lived in Cheyenne for 41 years.

She was a music teacher for Laramie County School District No. 1.

A member of Buffalo Ridge Ward of the LDS Church, she loved watching her children and grandchildren participate in sporting and musical events.

Survivors include her three sons, Craig Shanor Casper and Roger and Tom Shanor, both of Thermopolis; two daughters, Suzy Quinn and Sandy Bailey, both of Cheyenne; eight siblings, Trudy Vogelsberg of Orem, Utah, Bus McIntosh of Powell, Gordon McIntosh of Salt Lake City, Duane McIntosh of Ventura, Calif., Ira McIntosh of St. George, Utah, Robert McIntosh of Burlington, Howard McIntosh of Magagna, Utah, and Eleanor Bates of Burlington; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
