Mason Allen Keele was born to Samantha Renea Keele on Dec. 5, 2002, in Powell — with Nannie, Aunt Suzie, Uncle Josh and the man who would become Mason’s Dad, Michael Henley — by her side, until they took Mom for a C-section delivery.
Sam and Michael were later married March 6, 2004. And even though the marriage wouldn’t last, Michael’s love for Mason will never end.
Mason enjoyed Cub Scouts, Little League Baseball and middle school football and basketball. In 2018 Mason went to Charles Campbell Children’s Camp where he helped disabled children. He attended school in Lovell, starting with Headstart and spent the rest of his scholastic years with the class of 2022. In high school Mason found his talents for welding, woodworking and auto mechanics.
Mason loved fishing, hunting, camping, loud music, loud cars, driving too fast and spending time with his family and friends. Mason loved Charles Campbell Children’s Camp.
Mason left us far too early on Aug. 7, 2021, after a tragic pickup accident. He was doing what he loved — helping out a friend.
Mason was preceded in death by his biological father Keith Allen Schmidt; step-grandparents, Doris and Monty Rossenberg and Donnie Brinklow Sr.; and great-uncle and aunts, John Kobielusz, Sharon Keele and Deanna Keele.
He is survived by his parents Samantha and Donnie Brinklow and Michael and Kristine Henley; sisters Kadence Henley, Marin and Alexis Brinklow, and Riley Henley; brothers Adin Brinklow and Garrett, JC and Corbin Henley; grandparents Dave and Debbi Keele and Roy and Jaci Hooper, Jeff Henley, Todd and Robin Baxendale, and Elaine Brinklow; aunt Suzie (Josh) Dannar; cousins Seth, Andrew, Falcon, Xander and Quentin; aunt Dawn (Vernon) Allphin; cousins Tanner Brinklow, Taylor and Dalton Wolsey and Gemma Allphin; uncles Joey Brinklow and Tony (Louise) Henley; cousins Lewis, Olivia, William, Charlie, Isabella and Eliza; aunt Samantha (Marvin) Wight; cousins Joseph, Joshua, Kaydee, Jeremiah, Hannah, Sarah, Emilee, Jaede and Brynlee; aunt Beckie (Martin) Bates; cousins Sariah, Valerie, Johannes, Micah, Bonnie, Benjamin, Timothy, Megan, Lauren, Liberty, Jared, Schyler and McKenna; aunt Emma (Christopher) Allred; cousins Laura, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Shaun, Rory, Lily, Jase, Saige, and Connor; uncle Joe (Kacee) Hooper; cousins Kaeden, Kaybree, Jaxon and Zoie. Uncle Dan (Elena) Hooper, Duncan and Felicity; aunt Maddie (Tate) Stinson; cousin Lennon; uncle James (Alex) Hooper-Lopez; uncle Nick Henley; uncle Samuel Hooper; great-aunts and uncles Janet Kobielusz, Kathi (Dennis) Pittman and Carl Hopkin, Joe Keele and Norman Keele and their children.
He is also survived by Christie Marcus, William Brown and Shanaya Salmon, along with many other friends too numerous to mention. All who were extremely important in Mason’s life. Mason never left us without telling us he loved us, even if we weren’t necessarily happy with one another at the time. So love you too, Buddy!
Per Mason’s wishes he has been cremated. Funeral services were Saturday Aug. 14, 2021. Interment of cremains was in the Lovell Cemetery.
