Martha Elliott, 62, died on Saturday, March 17, 2012, surrounded by her family in her home in Cody.

She was born on Aug. 10, 1949 in Middlebury, Vt., the second of three children to William and Lola McKean of Bristol, Vt.

Following graduation from Bristol High School, Martha attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo., where she majored in physical education and met her husband of 40 years, David Elliott. Martha and Dave settled in Cody in 1976 and raised three children, Paul, Jason and Tiffany.

In addition to her savior Jesus Christ, Martha loved spending time in the mountains, gardening, reading and most of all, enjoying her children and grandchildren. She was an active member of Cody Bible Church and Bible Study Fellowship. Anyone who knew Martha was attracted to her spunk, her willingness to serve and her genuine interest in each person she met.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William McKean and Lola McKean Hanson and granddaughter, Charlotte Elliott.

Martha is survived by her husband, Dave Elliott; sister, Kathy Piper of Indiana; brother, Thomas McKean of Vermont; two sons and their spouses, Paul and Lindsay Elliott of Tulsa, Okla., Jason and Anna Elliott of Sunrise, Fla.; daughter Tiffany Elliott of Cody, and six grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been set up in her memory at Cody Bible Church and donations may be sent to: Cody Bible Church, 2137 Cougar Ave, Cody, WY, 82414

Funeral services will be held at Cody Bible Church on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Levi Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. An online guestbook is available at www.ballardfh.com.
