Marjorie L. Chouinard, 83, died on Christmas Day, Dec. 25 in the Powell Valley Care Center.
She was born Nov. 23, 1923, in Brandon, Iowa, to George Funk Sr. and Daisy Mae (Collar) Funk. She received her education through high school and married Douglas L. Chouinard on May 20, 1950. They moved to Powell in 1959.
She was a restaurant owner and a cook. She was a member of St. Barbara’s Catholic Church and the Eagles, American Legion and VFW. Her husband died in April of 1997.
She enjoyed crocheting and baking for family and friends.
Survivors include sons Larry (DJ) Chouinard of Powell and Douglas Chouinard Jr. of Cody; daughters, Sheila Stricker (Larry) of Cody, Darla Brown (Bradley) of Riverton, Vickie LeRoy of Powell and Kay Tuttle (Tim) of Havelock, N.C.; 19 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas; a son, Ronald; a brother, George Funk Jr.; and her parents.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Dec. 29 at 10 a.m. at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, with Father Pete Johnson officiating. Arrangements are by Thompson Funeral Home.
Rosary will be said Thursday, Dec. 28 at 7 p.m. at the church.
Pallbearers at the funeral willl be Ron Chouinard Jr., Shawn Chouinard, Tim Tuttle Jr., Darrell Creek, Kevin Cannon and Darren Cannon. Honorary pallbearers are Bryan Cannon, Scott Creek and Justin Chouinard.
