Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church of Cody for Margaret (Maggie) Farman Newell, 64, who died Friday, Aug. 10 at her home in Cody.
She was born May 15, 1937, to Paul and Margaret (Shillinger) Farman. She married Ralph D. Newell on Feb. 22, 1958, in Wyola, Mont.
A resident of Cody for 43 years, she was a teacher in Park County School District No. 6 until her retirement. She was a member and deacon of First Presbyterian Church and a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and the retired teachers organization.
Maggie loved the mountains and wildlife and enjoyed going for rides and seeing the wildflowers. She loved traveling and sightseeing, but most of all she loved her family, friends and her Bible studies. She rejoiced in the Lord.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph, of Cody; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and David Gilmore and Suzie and Kelly Myrick, all of Powell; a son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Cheryl Newell of Wasilla, Alas.; a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Bonnie Farman of West Palm Beach, Fla., a sister and brother-in-law, Paula and Alex Nayes of Forsyth, Mont., a sister-in-law, JoAn Wilson of Cody, and a sister-in-law, Martha and husband Bob Anderson of Moab, Utah; grandchildren Clayton, Ashlee, Alyssa, Matt, Mindy and McKenzi; great-granddaughter Natalie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial contributions to the Northwest College Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
Burial will be in Cody's Riverside Cemetery.
