Margaret Gullion

(Oct. 22, 2009)

Margaret Gullion, 67, of Bridger, Mont. died Wednesday, Oct. 22 at St. Vincent’s Hospital after a long fight against heart disease.

She was born Jan. 31, 1942, in Powell, to Clyde and Ruby (Jones) Gullion. She went by many nicknames, including Mag, Marg, Margie and Grams.

She graduated from Powell High School in 1960. She continued her education at the Cody hospital as a lab technician and then moved to Denver to work at National Jewish Hospital. While in Denver, she met Jack Jackson and followed him to London, England where they were married on Jan. 7, 1966. After Jack was honorably discharged from the Air Force, they lived in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Utah, eventually settling in Billings, where she was a housewife and mother. They later divorced.

In 1978, she moved to Amarillo, Texas where she continued her career in the medical field. In 1991, she decided to move back home to Powell to be closer to her family. Margaret moved to Cody in 1994 to work at West Park Hospital until suffering a heart attack in 2000. She lived in Powell until 2008 when she decided to move to Bridger.

Margaret loved to sing — it didn't matter if it was on her karaoke machine or along with the radio in the car. She also enjoyed home decorating, working in her vegetable and flower gardens, cooking big family dinners, loving everyone and computer games. She loved the word “grace” and all that it stands for.

Margaret is survived by her daughter Annette Gonzales (Raymond) of Powell; her two grandsons Joshua Lovelady  (Erin) and their daughter Tegan of Powell and Matthew Lovelady (TC) of Casper; her granddaughter Nikki Gonzales of Powell; three sisters, Jamesetta Roane of Casper, Juanita Brost (Jerry) of Cody and Fae Weir (Frank) of Casper; and a brother, Bill Gullion (Leah) of Powell.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services have been held with burial in the Penrose Cemetery. Thompson Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
