Magdalena Thormahlen, 92, of Park City, Mont., died May 19, 2006, in Puyallup, Wash., where she had been residing at an assisted living home for the past year.
She was born in Belgium on Sept. 19, 1913, and came to the U.S. as an infant. She became a U.S. citizen in 1958. She lived in Kansas until she was a teenager, then moved to Montana. She also lived in Powell for many years and a few years in Washington.
She married Ludwig (Lute) Thormahlen on Sept. 19, 1934, in Billings. She was a homemaker and also worked out of her home, cooking and cleaning for other people. She was blessed with three children, Robert, David and Dennis.
Magdalena is survived by her two sons, Robert (Bob) Thormahlen of the Denver area and David (Gerri) Thormahlen of the Washington and Oregon areas; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Marguerite Goodman of Bridger, Mont.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 27, at Smith Funeral Chapel in Laurel, Mont. Burial will be in the Bridger Cemetery at approximately 11:30 a.m. A luncheon will follow at the Bridger Caf after the burial. Memorials are suggested to St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Park City, MT 59063.
