Lummis right to take space junk seriously

Dear Editor:

In this topsy-turvy world, I find myself writing in agreement with another Wyoming legislator at the federal level, Ms. Cynthia Lummis. Regular readers of your paper will recognize this as unusual behavior from me ...

I write in support of her column, posted in the July 27 edition of your paper, in which Ms. Lummis expressed concern over the growing threat space junk poses to our way of life.

It’s not fair to lay responsibility at president Biden’s feet; awareness of the problem dates back to at least the Carter administration. And after all, as a U.S. senator, she has the power to create legislation addressing this issue. Nevertheless, I appreciate that she is taking the issue seriously.

My last letter to you expressed support for Ms. Liz Cheney in her pursuit of truth and justice regarding the event of Jan 6 known as “the Capitol Hill Riot.” I am still behind her in that effort.

I have never seen eye to eye with either of these women during their careers. If nothing else, it is “Exhibit A” in the concept that even Americans of radically different philosophies can find things to agree on.
