As the new school year begins, Andy MaGill intends to continue serving as a safety manager, bus driver and substitute teacher for the Powell school district. But he’s no longer in one of his other roles, having retired from his job as a Park County sheriff’s deputy earlier this year.
Deputy MaGill left the sheriff’s office with 20 years of experience in law enforcement. His career as a peace officer included time at the Greybull Police Department, the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office and then the Park County Sheriff’s Office, where he served from 2006 through May 23. He served as a patrol deputy in the Powell area.
In addition to planning to continue to serve the community and Park County School District No. 1, MaGill intends “to camp and fish as much as he can and continue to spoil his grandkids,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post in June. “We thank Deputy MaGill for his service to the citizens of Park County and wish him well in future endeavors.”
