Two Powell residents were hospitalized following a wreck early Monday morning.
Richard Holdsworth, 60, of Powell allegedly failed to stop a one-ton 2015 Chevy Silverado at a stop sign on the eastbound lane of Lane 7 at about 6:35 a.m. Monday, said Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper Blain Mollett.
Holdsworth struck Joel Johnson, 37, also of Powell, as he was heading north on Wyoming Highway 295 in a 2010 Ford F-150.
The Silverado was hit at the right front fender in the headlight area and the Ford sustained damage at the driver’s side front fender. Following the collision inside the intersection, the Chevy spun and rolled onto its side, Mollett said.
Emergency responders from the Powell Fire Department, Powell Ambulance, Powell Police Department, Wyoming Highway Patrol, Park County Sheriff’s Office and a Bureau of Land Management ranger were on the scene.
Both drivers were transported to the Powell hospital and their condition remains unknown. Johnson was life flighted for further treatment in Billings, Montana, Mollett said.
As of press time Monday, there were no estimates on how fast the vehicles were traveling and the cause of the wreck remains under investigation, Mollett said.
