Wyoming native Cathy Ringler — a storyteller, cowgirl and author — will speak at the Powell Library next week.
Ringler is the author of “Miya’s Dream,” a story of three barrels, two hearts and one big dream.
The Clark author will give a writer’s workshop for young adults at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at the library.
She will discuss writing strategies and answer questions about how to turn that great idea into a novel or short story.
Later on Thursday, the library will host an author talk with Ringler beginning at 6:30 p.m. The evening includes a book signing and refreshments.
“Miya’s Dream” is Ringler’s first book, and it began as a story she told her daughters as they rode their horses in the evenings. Throughout her teaching career, Ringler continued to write and tell stories to inspire, motivate and educate.
The programs are provided by the Friends of the Powell Library.
