The Powell Lady Panthers will take on Jackson to open their quest to return to the state volleyball tournament.The Lady Panthers, who finished the Northwest Conference season tied with Cody for second, have been seeded third in the regional tounament.
Last month, the Lady Panthers dominated the Lady Broncs in Jackson, winning in three sets. The following day, they met Jackson again in the conference duals in Lander, and led the match 2-0, but Jackson came back with three wins to take the match.
The seeding also puts the Panthers on the same side of the bracket as Lander, the top seed from the northwest which opens competition against Lyman. On the other side of the bracket, Worland takes on the southwest top seed, Mountain View and Cody meets Pinedale in the first round.
Action starts at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, in Mountain View with the Lander-Lyman match, with the Powell-Jackson match following at 10:30.
Worland plays at noon and Cody at 1:30. Loser out games begin at 3:30 Friday and semifinals are scheduled for 6:30 and 8 p.m.
Consolation semifinals begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The contest for third and fourth is scheduled for 2 p.m followed by the championship.
