(June 10, 1970 - March 7, 2006) Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated today (Tuesday) at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Cody for Kelley Daniel Hamilton, 35, who died suddenly Tuesday, March 7 at West Park Hospital in Cody.Burial will be in Powell's Crown Hill Cemetery at 2 p.m. Tuesday.He was born June 10, 1970, in Powell to Lee J. and Joan (Mackey) Hamilton. He was raised and attended school in Cody before the family moved to Bakersfield, Calif, where he graduated from high school in 1989. Following a year of employment, he entered the U.S. Army in September 1990. He served in Kuwait twice and in Korea twice, in addition to being stationed at several bases in the U.S. during 11-plus years in the military. After his discharge in 2002, he worked in Bozeman, Mont., and also in Oregon before returning to Cody. At the time of his death, he was attending Western Nebraska Community College, studying at the aviation school. He loved kids and spending time with his family. As a hobby, he enjoyed radio-controlled model airplanes. Survivors include his daughter, Emily Ann Hamilton of Lemore, Calif.; his mother and her husband, Joan and George Gillett of Powell; his brothers, Patrick L. Hamilton of Medford, Ore., and Shaun M. Hamilton of Sacramento, Calif.; his sister, Theresa Stevenson of Eva Beach, Hawaii; and numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father, Lee J. Hamilton.Should friends desire, memorials to the Cody Fire Department would be appreciated by the family. Ballard Funeral Home, Cody, handled arrangements.
