(Jan. 20, 1923 - March 16, 2003) Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 16 at Union Presbyterian Church for Keith LeRoy Jones, 80, who died Tuesday, March 11 at Powell Valley Care Center.The Rev. David Hunter will officiate. At Mr. Jones' request, cremation has taken place. He was born Jan. 20, 1923, in Logan, Utah, son of Harley and Marie Jones. He was a twin to his brother, Donald, who survives him.Keith began elementary school in Cody, prior to moving to Powell where he attended public schools and graduated from Powell High School in 1941.He enjoyed farming and operated the family farm after his father's health failed. He married Donna Belle Jacobs on Aug. 13, 1943. They would have celebrated 60 years of marriage this year. In 1956, Keith retired from farming and began a career with the City of Powell, holding various positions. He retired in 1985 as water commissioner.Throughout his life, he was involved in various agricultural organizations, including 4-H, FFA, ASCS board and several water boards.He was a lifetime member of Union Presbyterian Church, serving in nearly every capacity in church life. He enjoyed singing in the church choir for 50 years.He loved his family, his horses, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and camping. He enjoyed training teams to pull buggies, highlighted by driving his team with his grandchildren in the buggy. He was an avid horseshoe pitcher and won many trophies to record his accomplishments.Keith and Belle enjoyed traveling in retirement and toured all 50 states.Survivors include his wife of nearly 60 years, Donna Belle Jones; four sons, Calvin and his wife Donna of Worland, Randolph and his wife Beverly of Sidney, Mont., Jeffrey Jones of Billings, Mont., and Denman Jones of Grand Junction, Colo.; nine grandchildren and spouses, Darren and Jodie Jones of Canyon, Texas, Jason and Carrie Jones of Berthoud, Colo., Beth Ann Jones of Minot, N.D., Christian Jones of Deadwood, S.D., Erin and Curtis Anderson of Sidney, Mont., Elise and Jarrod Koerner of Deadwood, S.D., Brooke, Brad and Brenna Jones of Grand Junction, Colo., and five great-grandchildren.He is also survived by three brothers and their spouses, Earl and Opal Jones and Donald and Pat Jones, both of Powell, and Harley and Jean Jones of Ontario, Calif; along with several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kent; and a sister, Myrna.For those who wish, the family would appreciate memorials to Union Presbyterian Church or a charity of choice.
