For most of the weekend at the GK Raceway, the monthly Park County Kart Club races went off smoothly.
Dozens of racers, ranging from age 6 to 70 and older, took their turns in various division heats to determine winners and have loads of fun along the way.
The weather cooperated for the Saturday runnings, allowing the full slate of races to finish, though the late afternoon storm Sunday got in the way of full completion.
“We got through all but the last race because the wind got so horrible,” PCKC’s Jane Faulkner said. “We were able to get all the karts put away before the rain hit.”
Next month's races will be helt Sept. 10-11.
