After a short break the Powell High School girls’ junior varsity basketball team got back on the court in Worland, moving to 13-0 on the season with a 44-27 victory over the Warriors.
A quick start garnered a 12-7 lead after the first quarter for the Panthers, and that lead was pushed to 24-11 before halftime.
“I was extremely pleased with how well the team came out and played after having two weeks off with last weeks’ games canceled,” coach Troy Hildebrand said.
Hildebrand said that throughout the game the Panthers struggled to shoot, but made the best of their defensive effort to garner more opportunities as they cruised to the 44-27 win and held Worland to single digits in each quarter.
Kaedenze Carter led with 10 points, Ava Teten had eight, Kindyle Floy had seven, Hali Hancock had six, Autumn Kidd had five and Veronica Kovach, Jesi Agee, Leah Graham and Sam Edgell each had two.
Powell plays its final home games of the season this weekend with games against Lander on Friday and Pinedale on Saturday.
