June is here and that means Summer Reading has kicked off at all Park County Libraries. In celebration of the 250th birthday of our great country this year’s Summer Reading theme is Stars, Stripes & Stories celebrating America’s 250th. All three of our libraries will be filled with activities, programming, reading and lots of fun. Make sure and sign up for Summer Reading.
Craig Johnson is coming to Powell Library. Make sure and put it on your calendar, for July 3 at 6 p.m. The Wyoming author will be visiting to discuss his popular Longmire series, sign and sell books.
Join us on Tuesday, June 9 at 2 p.m., for the Pearl Observatory Planetarium and experience “Night Sky of the Revolution: Our Founding Fathers Night Sky in the Planetarium.”
Join us for a Fabric Give and Take on Thursday, June 11, 4-7 p.m. in Homesteader Hall at the Park County Fairgrounds.
Come on Friday, June 12 at 1 p.m. to make Cornhusk Dolls.
Come learn the History of Farming in Powell on Thursday, June 18 at 2 p.m. with Brandi Wright from the Homesteader Museum.
Make Your Own Covered Wagon as a Family on Thursday, June 25 at 2 p.m. Construct your own covered wagon out of popsicle sticks.
Come play the original Oregon Trail Computer Game on Friday and Saturday, June 26 and 27 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Join us at 1 p.m. on June 26 for a live action Oregon Trail Computer Game.
Join us for an interactive music program with Drum Safari and their percussion instruments for a jungle jam on Tuesday, June 30 at 2 p.m.
Grab your Altered Book Club kit after June 10 and create an America’s 250th book inspired craft.
Tuesday, June 16 we will offer Online Fair Entry Assistance from 6-8 p.m.
Join us for Adult Craft Night on Thursday, June 18 at 6 p.m. for an Uncle Sam inspired front porch décor.
Tuesday Afternoon Book Discussion meets on June 9 at 2 p.m. where we will be discussing “Midnight at the Blackbird Cafe” by Heather Webber. The evening book discussion will be meet on Tuesday, June 30 at 6 p.m. to discuss “Remarkably Bright Creatures” by Shelby Van Pelt.
Powell Library is offering Tech Tuesday; sign up for a one-on-one session with Park County Library IT who can help you with your device problems. Tech Tuesday will be on June 16, sign ups required.
We have lots of activities for everyone but bring the kids to the library for Toddler Time every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Join us every Wednesday for Storytime at 2 p.m. Sensory Playtime for Toddlers is Monday, June 8 at 10:30 a.m. Join us for a special Storytime at the Caboose at the Homesteader Museum on Wednesday, June 10 at 10:30 a.m.
All Park County Libraries will be closed July 3-4 in celebration of Independence Day.
