Judy M. Dye died Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, after a long battle with cancer at West Park Hospital in Cody. She was 69.
On Jan.19, 1962, Judy was united in marriage with Larry Dye in Cody. Judy worked at the courthouse and Eastgate Laundry for a short time before staying home with their children for many years. In the early '70s, alongside her husband, Judy started the Carpet Hut in Cody. Judy acted as the office manager and bookkeeper for the store.
Judy was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and enjoyed bowling in a mixed league.
She loved the outdoors and all it has to offer; mountain flowers, camping, fishing, four-wheeling, gardening and watching the seasons change. She loved to prepare meals for her family and appreciated the arts, including music in the park and various concerts. She was very social and loved to strike up conversations with anyone.
First and foremost, Judy was a wonderful and dedicated mother and grandmother and her life truly revolved around her family and the family business.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Larry Dye of Cody; two sons, Rick Dye of Cody, Steve (Utana) Dye of Powell; three grandchildren, Ryan (Mark) White of Portland, Ore., Dakota Dye of Cody, Taylor Dye of Powell; daughter-in-law, Kelly Dye of Cody; two brothers, Tom Guth of California and Bob Guth of California; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Dorothy Hanson and Lois Kerr.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at Ballard Funeral Home in Cody.

Also, an account will be set up at First National Bank in her honor. The family has requested memorials to be directed to benefit local cancer care and research.
