Judith “Judy” Ann (Kirchman) Morgan, 63, of Otto, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010 in Burlington.
Judy was the first of two children born to Jack and Thelma (Seiber) Kirchman. Judy was born July 16, 1947, in Sheridan. She was raised in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School. She furthered her education by receiving an associate’s degree from Sheridan College; a bachelor’s degree in English education from the University of Wyoming; and a master’s degree in technology in education from Lesley University.
Judy married John G. Morgan on June 28, 1970 in Casper. They shared an amazing 40 years together. To this union they had five children, John, Justin, JeriLyn, James, and Chad. Judy also was blessed with two step-children, Harold and Helen.
Judy was passionate about learning and dedicated her life to teaching. She fostered a love for learning in both her own children and students. She spent 27 years teaching English, drama and desktop publishing and coaching speech to students at the Burlington schools. She truly touched the lives of each student on an individual basis.
Judy was the type of mother/grandmother every child wished they had. She was very devoted and a fine example to her family. She supported and encouraged each of them to follow their dreams and fight hard for the things they felt were important. Judy was spontaneous and was always up for an adventure. She was an enthusiastic, generous, loyal, and compassionate mother who enjoyed her family very much.
Survivors include her husband, John G.; sons, John R. (Lisa), Justin (CoriAnn), James (Ashley), and Chad; daughter, JeriLyn; beloved grandchildren Melissa, John M., Stormi Lyn, Morgan, James, Madison, Holden, Sabrina, Heather, and Joseph; sister Rita Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Jack Kirchman.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010 at the Burlington High School Gymnasium with Pastor Justin Vold officiating. Burial will follow at the Otto Cemetery. Immediately following the interment, a reception for family and friends will be held at the Burlington LDS Church. Pallbearers for her funeral are Harold Morgan, John R. Morgan, Justin Morgan, James Morgan, Chad Morgan, Damian Carrillo, August Zierlein and Jack Miller. Honorary pallbearers are Morgan and James Love.
A memorial fund in Judy’s name has been set up at Security State Bank, P.O. Box 531, Basin, WY 82410. A beneficiary of the memorial fund will be determined at a later date.
