Joyce (Joy) Atkinson

Posted

Joyce (Joy) Atkinson was known for her love of fishing, outdoors and her family. Her happiest moments were on the water with her husband, children and dog. She loved to travel and experience new adventures. The weekend meant she was outdoors, enjoying everything life had to offer. There wasn’t a better name for Joy as that is what she brought into the world and took with her when she left us. Her memory lives on through her family and friends.

Joy was born in Kalispell, Montana in 1975 to parents Joe and Judy Silva. She grew up in the Flathead Valley, where she found her love for the outdoors.

Joy attended Montana State University and Northwest College where she received her nursing degree. She worked as an RN throughout the Big Horn Basin. Joy loved what she did so much that she was pushing to work up until the last day of her full and exciting life.

Joy is survived by her parents (Joe and Judy Silva), her husband and children (Chet Atkinson, Bailey Atkinson and Kayla Hall), soon to be grandson (Nash Atkinson), and many friends that she gained throughout her years.

Joy will always be remembered for the joy and brightness that she brought into everyone's lives. We’ll always imagine her catching one more fish, planting one more thing in the garden, or taking one more picture of her family.

We respect Joy's wishes by holding off on services until a later date. Her family will notify loved ones and friends when a celebration of life will be held.
