Josie Hernandez Moreno, 75 of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died Monday, Dec. 19 at Eastern Idaho Falls Regional Medical Center.
She was born May 5, 1930, to Jesus and Victoria Hernandez in Powell.
She grew up in Powell and graduated from Powell High School. In 1946, She married George L. Riddle Sr. They were later divorced.
Josie attended the University of Wyoming at Laramie and received her Associates Degree in Nursing, later receiving her Register Nurses License in Idaho. She moved to Idaho Falls around 1969 to begin her career in Nursing. She later married Salvador Moreno, who preceded her in death.
Josie was a devout Catholic and a member of Christ the King Church in Idaho Falls. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Her interests always resided in the care and well-being of her family and those around her.
Survivors include her sons George L( Miki) Riddle Jr. of Hardin, Mont. and Albert (Jackie) Riddle of Idaho Falls; her daughter, Margaret Johnson of Anchorage, Alas.; her mother, Victoria Hernandez of Powell; her brothers, Jesse (Manuella) Hernandez of Powell and Victor Abarca of Idaho Falls; her sisters, Louise Hernandez of Idaho Falls, Mary Hernandez of Powell, Connie Hernandez of Dubois, Idaho; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Salvador, she was preceded in death by her father, Jesus Hernandez, sisters Ramona, Mary Jesse and Christine and brother Refugio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 145 9th Street in Idaho Falls, with Father Caleb Vogel, celebrant.
