(June 18, 1969 - March 17, 2008) Joel Raymond Pennington of Byron, tragically died Monday March 17, from injuries received in an automobile accident. He was 38.Joel was born on June 18, 1969, in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. He obtained his BS degree from Western Michigan University, majoring in sociology with a double minor in business management and music.First and foremost Joel was a loving, dedicated husband and father. He also had a passion for playing the keyboard, piano, and composing. Most recently he played the keyboard in the Power Up service at the First United Methodist Church in Powell. As a man of many talents, he excelled in computer technology and applied this in personal projects as well as his career as a business analyst, most recently for United Health Care. He was a resident of Longmont, Colo., for five years and moved to Byron, in 2007. Joel is survived by his wife, Rebekah Sellers of Byron, two daughters, Diane Sellers and Brooke Pennington of Byron, his parents, Richard and Talitha Pennington of Sterling Heights, Mich., a sister, Vera Pennington, and niece, Anna Pennington of Grand Rapids, Mich.Cremation has taken place. Memorial services were held Tuesday, March 25 at First United Methodist Church in Powell. A trust has been established for Diane Sellers and Brooke Pennington at First National Bank and Trust in Powell. Joel was born on June 18, 1969, in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. He obtained his BS degree from Western Michigan University, majoring in sociology with a double minor in business management and music.

First and foremost Joel was a loving, dedicated husband and father. He also had a passion for playing the keyboard, piano, and composing. Most recently he played the keyboard in the Power Up service at the First United Methodist Church in Powell.
