JoAnn Davey McCrae, 46, died at her home in Pepper Pike, Ohio, on Friday, Oct. 18 after a three-year struggle with cancer.
Funeral services were held Oct. 23 at the Garfield Church in Pepper Pike.
She was born July 12, 1956, in Missoula, Mont., daughter of LeRoy and Margaret Davey. She was graduated from Powell High School in 1974 and attended Northwest College and the University of Utah. She obtained her advanced degree in 1983 from the University of North Carolina.
She was employed as a clinical dietitian at Duke University and the University of Pennsylvania.
On Nov. 17, 1984, she married Dr. Keith McCrae and lived in Ohio where her husband is an oncologist at Case Western University Hospital.
She was devoted to her family and particularly enjoyed helping her children with their school projects and extra-curricular activities. She also enjoyed camping, hiking and skiing.
She is survived by her husband and two children, Brett, 14, and Kristen Ann, 12; her parents, LeRoy and Marge Davey of Powell; sisters Jacquie Davey and Susan Davey of Denver; and in-laws, Duncan and Marjorie McCrae of Portland, Maine.
Memorials may be sent to a charity of choice or to The Gathering Place, a non-profit, community-based wellness center supporting the various needs of individuals and their families who have cancer. The address is 3365 Richmond Road, #130, Beechwood, Ohio 44122.
