Former nurse practitioner at Powell Nursing Home and Northwest College student health program organizer, Jennifer Roy, 76, died on March 9, 2008 in Salemtowne, Oregon.
She was born Nov. 29, 1931.
A Scotswoman who trained in the United States, Jennifer worked in a variety of communities across the country, concluding her career at Willamette University, Salem, Oregon, from 1987 to her retirement in 1996.
Retirement did not slow Jennifer. After leaving Willamette, she studied Spanish and opened a part-time practice at La Clinica Medical Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe in Salem.
Jennifer loved to travel, share opera with friends, discuss books and politics and play her flute. She swam recreationally and was a fierce competitor in pickleball.
She is survived by family in Scotland, Australia, Nevada and a circle of friends around the world.
Jennifer shared her spirited sense of humor, love and her joy of life with many people and will be solely missed.
A celebration of Jennifer’s life was held on March 19 at Willamette University’s Core Chapel in Waller Hall. A reception followed in two dining rooms at the university.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name were made to the La Clinica Medical Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe in Salem.
