Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Powell for lifelong resident Jeannie Whitlock, 62, who died at her Powell home Friday, April 20 after a two-year bout with cancer.

Pastor Clyde Seifert will officiate at memorial services. Cremation has taken place.

She was born Jeannie Brandt on Sept. 5, 1938, in Powell, daughter of Russell and Betty Brandt.

She attended Powell schools and graduated from Powell High School in 1958.

She married Leonard Whitlock in Powell on Dec. 31, 1960, and to this union, four children were born. Two sons and two daughters were raised in this community.

She was a homemaker and proud of her family. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and active with the quilters in the church.

She enjoyed horseback riding and gardening and loved to grow beautiful flowers. She was an avid sewer and quilter.Survivors include two sons, Russ Whitlock and his wife Diane of Powell and Tye Whitlock and his wife Jamie of Powell; two daughters, Becky Herd and husband Dane of Powell and Jodie Warchola and husband Terry of Alberta, Canada; her parents, Russell and Betty Brandt of Powell; a sister, Judy Bennett of Powell; and 14 grandchildren.
