JB Brod

(April 11, 1951 - March 17, 2016)

John S. “JB” Brod, 64, of Cody, died at home on March 17, 2016, after a long battle with dementia.

He was born on April 11, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, to John E. and Geraldine Brod.

JB had lived in Cody since the early ’70s, finding Cody as he was traveling the country. He loved it immediately and knew it would be his home forever. He developed a love for motorcycles while in his teens, eventually settling on Harley Davidsons as his favorites. JB and his brother, Fly, traveled the country together on their motorcycles, enjoying the sights of this great land. 

He worked for Pawnee Irrigation in his early career, then for the city of Cody as its irrigation specialist. 

JB had a lot of friends and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his stepfather Robert Schnepp of Wauconda, Illinois; brother MJ of Wauconda, brother Fly of Cody, brother Rocky (Sue) of Mundelein, Illinois; sister Kimberly (John) Ventura of Saint Charles, Illinois; niece Tina (Michael) Dirksen of Rockford, Illinois; and his caregiver and nephew Jeremy Brod.

There will be no services at this time, but a memorial motorcycle ride will be at a future date.
