James Jared Alexander

James Jared Alexander died unexpectedly in Powell on Monday, July 25 at the age of 28.

He was the firstborn son to Annalee Hawley and James Oliver Alexander on June 9, 1983 in Cody. He grew up in and attended school in Meeteetse, Burlington and Northwest College in Powell.  

He was very talented working with his hands, and enjoyed drawing, woodworking, metal work and working on cars. He also enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, scouting and earned his Eagle award. Jared was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; he had a deep, spiritual side and believed in the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Jared worked in many industrial, oilfeld and construction occupations and particularly enjoyed welding and planned to return to college in the near future.

He is survived by his parents, James (Suzanne) Oliver Alexander and Annalee (Murland) Rydalch; his daughter, Alora Alexander; brothers Adam Alexander, Christopher Alexander, Matthew Alexander, Alex Speiser and Robert Speiser; sisters Rebecca (Jeff) Mackay, Charity (Jake) Bassett, Whitney Nolan, Danielle Kuhns and Blair Kannely.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 28 at 10 a.m. at the Burlington LDS Church with Bishop Chris Davidson officiating. A viewing will precede the service from 9-9:45 a.m. at the church. Cremation will follow with interment of the ashes in Burlington Cemetery on Friday July 29 at 10 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Adam Alexander (brother), Christopher Alexander (brother), Joshua Alexander (cousin), Chad Morgan, Jake Coble, Jay Degenstein, Jeff Mackay (brother-in-law), and Jake Bassett (brother-in-law). Honorary pallbearers are Matthew Alexander, Ethan Alexander, George Alexander, Donnie Alexander, Chance Nelson, Thomas Toleman and Raymond Hill.
