Hoyt Jacob Wells

There aren’t enough words to explain who Hoyt Jacob Wells is and the depth of love that is shared. In the early morning hours of May 16, our lives were forever changed. Hoyt was, is, and always will be the light of our lives. He is the most honest, genuine, salt of the earth, loyal son, brother and friend. His dad, Bob, was honored to raise Hoyt in the outdoors trapping, hunting, fishing and appreciating nature. He was even more proud of how well he loved, respected and treated his mom, Laura, and big sisters Oli, Payton and Kady.

Hoyt also shared countless hours in the company of his truest friend, Garrett, and his most loyal companion, Dax. Hoyt worked at Churchill Farms where he gained even more family. Hoyt’s gentle spirit is still felt by us, and his laugh resonates in our hearts. To know him is to love him.

We are privileged to have had him to love and hold in our arms on this earth for 17 short years, and blessed are we to love him always. The heartbreak is neverending, but so is the love. We can feel him here with us. In the mountains, in the streams and in the breeze. He’s bigger than life, and his presence will be felt forever.

Hoyt has been reunited with his loving grandma, Connie Wells, and is survived by his proud parents Bob and Laura Wells (Powell), his older sisters Kady Wells (Billings, Montana), Payton Wells (Weatherford, Texas), and Oli Wells (Billings, Montana), grandparents Leonard and Nancy Liebert (Cody), Bud Wells (Cody), and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Hoyt’s family requests that if you send flowers to please send perennials so that a flower garden can be planted in his memory.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Ballard Funeral Home Friday, May 29 at 10 a.m. Memories and condolences can be shared on Hoyt’s memorial page at BallardFH.com.
