Howard G. Megorden, 80, of Basin and formerly of Powell, died Feb. 22, 2011 at the Wyoming Retirement Center in Basin.
Howard had spent his working career as a hospital administrator for Lutheran Hospitals and Homes Society. His job had him running hospitals in Michigan, Powell, Worland, Grand Island, Neb.; and Red Lodge, Mont.
He lived in Powell from 1968 to 1978, and his children went to school in Powell.
Howard also lived in Billings, where he was a regional administrator for special projects for the company. Following his retirement he lived in Laurel, Mont., and Worland, and had a cabin south of Red Lodge.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn (Ellingson) Megorden of Basin; his children Craig (Rhonda) Megorden and Kristi (Rod) Rutz of Billings, Lori (Randy) Nissen of Worland, Karin (Dale) Nye of Bellevue, Neb. and Brenda (Miles) Marshall of Kearney, Neb; by his grandchildren Andrew and David Megorden, Adam, Andy, Libby and Amanda Rutz, Christopher and Tyler Harnden, Abby and Danny Nye, and Megan, Mallory, and McKenzie Marshall.
He also is survived by three brothers and three sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 10 at 11 a.m. at Grace Chapel Community Church in Worland.
Burial of the ashes will take place later this spring in Riverview Cemetery in Worland.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Wyoming Retirement Center at 890 South Highway 20, Basin, WY 82410, or to the fund of the donor’s choice.
