CODY — The Cody Library will host an author talk with historian and author Paul Andrew Hutton on Monday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. in Grizzly Hall. Copies of his forthcoming book, “The Undiscovered Country: Triumph, Tragedy, and the Shaping of the American West,” will be available for purchase.
In his book, Hutton explores the complex story of the American frontier through the lives of seven historical figures. Those include: Daniel Boone, Red Eagle, Davy Crockett, Mangas Coloradas, Kit Carson, Sitting Bull and William “Buffalo Bill” Cody.
His narrative examines both the triumphs and tragedies that shaped the West and the nation as a whole.
Paul Andrew Hutton is an award-winning historian, author, documentary writer and television personality. He currently serves as the Tate Chair of Western History and interim Curator of the Buffalo Bill Museum at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, Wyoming, and is a distinguished professor of history emeritus at the University of New Mexico.
Hutton’s previous works include “The Apache Wars,” “Phil Sheridan and His Army” and “The Custer Reader,” among others.
