A hiker in Yellowstone National Park who was attacked by what appears to be a grizzly bear protecting its food cache has been treated and released from the hospital Thursday, according to park officials.
The National Park Service investigated the attack site, discovering a carcass near the trail and confirmed grizzly tracks.
The Turbid Lake Trail (Lake Butte Trailhead to the intersection of Pelican Valley Trail), where the attack occurred, will remain closed until further notice.
The name of the man has yet to be released, but it is unknown if they will eventually release the 29-year-old's name.
