Dear editor:
I had the good fortune to be in Powell on Veterans Day this year and was able to attend the high school’s Veterans Day ceremony. What an extraordinary celebration that truly honored the men and women who have served our country.
The high school band and choir performances as well as the various student and guest speakers were both moving and patriotic. A highlight was the local honor guard’s solemn 21-gun salute — a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made for our freedom.
Each branch of the armed forces was recognized with its service song, creating a moment of pride and unity for veterans and their families in attendance. It was inspiring to see the Powell community come together to show gratitude and respect for those who have worn the uniform.
Thank you to the students, staff, and volunteers who made this event possible. Your efforts ensured those veterans in attendance felt appreciated and reflected great credit on the high school and its dedication to the strong Powell community values. Bravo Zulu on a job well done!
