(March 20, 1915 - April 22, 2001) Long-time Powell resident Henry Manweiler, 86, died Sunday, April 22 at the Powell Nursing Home. He was born March 20, 1915, in Custer, Mont., to Andrew and Catherine (Schuntz) Manweiler. He attended schools in Belfry, Mont.He had been a Wyoming resident for 63 years and had been a resident of the Powell Nursing Home for the last four years. He could be seen taking care of the flowers and pulling weeds on the nursing home grounds.He enjoyed fishing, and in his younger years, he had been an avid hunter. He also enjoyed working in the garden and spending time with his family and friends.Mr. Manweiler was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Powell Second Ward. He is survived by his son, Norman Manweiler and wife Elaine of Powell; a daughter, Ruby Anderson and husband Bob of Powell; two brothers, Carl Manweiler and wife Eleanor of Laurel, Mont., and Bill Manweiler and wife Marie of Joliet, Mont.; four sisters, all of Billings, Mont., Molly Bechtold, Frieda Gilmore and husband Jack, Pauline Socorro and Lillian Scheafer; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mae, in 1989; a brother, Alex Manweiler; and sisters Amelia Hideamal and Mary Neff.In accordance with his wishes, no services are planned at this time. Cremation has taken place, with burial of cremains in the Byron Cemetery at a later date.
