Hellen Maye Bourquin, 85, of Powell, died June 23, 2008 at Powell Valley Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born April 25, 1923 in Thomasville, Mo., to Charles Arthur Summers and Goldia Ion Baughman.
She grew up in Thomasville before moving to Powell in 1942.
Hellen was married to Alfred C. Moore in 1942 in New York City, and he preceded her in death. She was married to Charles Eugene Bourquin on March 25, 1985, and they were still married at the time of her death. They had recently celebrated 23 years of marriage. Hellen worked during her adult life as an LPN.
Hellen is survived by her only son, George, and his wife, Larysa, of Warner Robins, Ga. Helen is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Hellen’s siblings, Woodrow Summers, Lea Pearce, Lloyd Summers, Blanche Gilmore, and Noel Summers, and her parents, all preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held on June 27, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the Nazarene Church of Powell.
